Guideline – Tier 2 (Work Permit) Visa

The Tier 2 UK Visa is easy to apply. You do not require help of any Visa Consultant as it depends on the Certificate of Sponsorship and documents attached. To apply for a Tier-2 Visa, you will require to prepare the following documents before starting the application.

1. Certificate of Sponsorship (Sent from your Sponsor/Trust)
2. Police Certificate
3. Tb Certificate (For residents of certain countries listed in the website)
4. IELTS UKVI Certificate
5. Accommodation Confirmation Letter
6. Maintenance Letter (subject to special conditions)*
7. NICOP (National ID Card for Overseas Pakistanis)

Apply for a General Category Visa (Tier 2). Fill in your details on the initial page.

Part-1: Passport and Travel Information

In the type of Application box, select General Migrant up to 3 years (unless the mentioned stay period on your COS in longer).

In the Travel information section, mention 3 days prior to the joining date mentioned in the Certificate of Sponsorship. Your period of stay in the UK should be as per your contract as mentioned in the COS. Your address of stay should not be the address of your sponsor/Hospital. It should only be the address mentioned in your accommodation confirmation letter.

Part-2: Personal, Travel and Criminal Record

This section is simple. Simply fill in the information regarding your last visit to UK. It also contains some questions on past criminal record if any.

Part-3: Family Details

Here you simply put details of your parents, spouse, dependent/non-dependent children if any.

Part-4: Medical Treatment

Mention if you have any record of Medical Treatment in the UK.

Part-5: Tier 2 Skilled Worker

This section requires detailed information from your COS. The name and address of your sponsor, the title of your job, salary per year in GBP, IELTS UKVI details, maintenance and points.

Here is a scheme of points you will claim/award against each condition. A minimum of 70 points is required to get the Tier-2 Visa.

COS – Shortage Occupation List – 30 points

Resident Labor Market Test passed – 30 points

Salary above 159,600 GBP – 30 points

Appropriate Salary (above 30,000 GBP) – 20 points

English Language – 10 points

Maintenance cover – 10 points 

Part-6: Additional Information

Refer to Cover Letter. In the Cover letter you have to explain details of your Hospital/Sponsor, employment, GMC registration, PLAB Exams, Maintenance, Accommodation etc.. in simple words (along with details where necessary). You will also give a list of the documents attached with your application.

5)     Appointment Letter from the Hospital/Trust

7)     TB Test Certificate

8)     UKVI IELTS Certificate

9)     Copy of M.B.B.S Degree

10)   Copy of General Medical Council, UK Registration Certificate

11)   Copy of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Registration Certificate

12)   Copy of House Job/Internship Completion Certificate

13)   Copy of Pakistan National Identity Card

14)   Local Police Character Certificate

Payment: The Immigration Health Surcharge is 200 GBP per year. Depending on the length of your contract the surcharge would multiply and has to be paid entirely. The fees for Tier 2 Visa is around 570 GBP. The total fees is around 105,00 PKR for Tier 2 and one year IHS Health Surcharge. Once you submit the IHS, it is important to check your mail for the IHS Reference Number which will be a confirmation.
